Wear comfortable clothing that allows freedom
(and permit visibility) of movement. If you practice
in clothes that complement the movements it's easier to
learn belly dance.
It will help you understand what this dance is supposed
to feel like when you tie a scarf around your hips.
Some suggestions to get into the swing of things:
- top with leggings, yoga or harem pants.
- a scarf, belt or coin-sash tied around the hips.
- (some) ornaments : neck, belly, ankles etc.
- Bare feet or socks, ballet slippers or jazz shoes.
